I tried 2 different ways to achieve this look. The first I covered the clips in washi tape and the second I just drew on them with a paint pen. The results, not quite anthro, but if I had used either A. Different washi or B. A stencil with the paint pen then I could have made a perfect replica.
Last year at work a coworker challenged me to a 30 day challenge. The idea is you pick something and make yourself do it everyday for 30 days. I generally give myself small 30 day challenges (drink 8 glasses of water, eat a fruit, etc.) and don’t post about them. Months seem to fly by without any updates on here so I’m giving myself a 30 day crafting a blogging challenge. The idea is to make something everyday for 30 days. The theme for this particular challenge is Anthropologie knockoffs. I’ve started a Pintrest board of potentials here. Since its the second, If I make and post something tonight I can run this challenge for 30 days. I’d be happy to post tutorials for anything I make, so if there is anything you see that you just have to know what I did, drop me a line in the comments. I should have the first knockoff up later tonight 😀
I purchased one of these at Micheal’s on clearance for $6 and wanted to try it out. So I grabbed 4 different colors of seed beads from my stash and whipped this up. I used to hate making things with seed beeds cuz the threading took so long, but now, OMG I want to make all the seed beads!

Wow Its been two months since I last posted. Uhhh, I’m really sorry guys. Shortly after returning from Heroescon work started throwing out crazy deadlines and it was all I could do to keep up. So thankfully I should have a little time before the next crazy deadline comes up. So what have I done since the last post? Other than write some beautiful code, not much. I did buy a screenprint setup and print some t-shirts. I have a few more to do so I promise pictures from the next time around. I don’t know if I can keep up with a 1 thing/1post a day schedule. So I will try to post as often as I can. Here’s what I’m working on at the moment:
1. Dino baby blanket for Eliza – This is basted and in the process of being quilted. Not hard but time consuming. I need to go get some bias binding to finish it and try the bias binding foot on my new machine. (I suck at machine sewing binding, so I am helping this will magically fix that and make my life so much easier)
2. Brina wrap – I’m planning on making this.I ordered some super soft jersey fabric from fabric.com and now I just need to sit down and cut and sew the thing.
3. Antler Jewelry holder – I bought a lot of antlers on ShopGoodwill, which is like Ebay where the money goes to charity. I’ve drilled holes in them and attached them to a piece of wood. Now I need to spray paint and hang them in my bedroom. I guess I should go by some spraypaint. I’m thinking gold :).
4. Modern Hex Quilt – This is one of those side projects. When I’m bored and sitting in front of the computer, make some hexes.
5. Knitted blanket – Not much to say, this is the same one I’ve been working on since I bought the house. One day I will finish it. For now I knit a couple rows here and there when I’m bored, although now a row takes forever.
6. Screen print tshirts – Created an image for batgirl tees. Need to burn a screen and pull some shirts. Have a couple of ideas for other things to screen print, but haven’t done anything on them yet.
So yeah, totally not lacking in the to do department. Ohh well, It means I have choices! I’ll try to post pictures of something or another tonight when I get out of the office.

I’m so sorry for the lack of content, its been a bit of a busy week. I still have last weeks tutorial Tuesday to post (how to make a cute cocktail ring from some old earrings) as well as several 1 a day challenge pictures. I also have some more feminist comic book rantings to spew at you all as well. I did miss several one a day challenge days this weekend while I was out of town in Charlotte for Heroes Convention.
So while I totally failed at making anything (Do friends count? Cuz I met some awesome fantastic people!) I had an amazing weekend. I got to finally meet Kelly Sue DeConnick, and Skottie Young! I got to catch up with artists and writers I’d either met out here in Los Angeles or at other cons (Matt Kindt, Mark Sable, Matt Fraction and others) and catch up with old friends. All-in-all it was a frantic, frenzied, fun weekend and now I’m back at work and pooped. So now I’m back at work, trying to crank through a deadline and wishing I had taken another day of vacation. So bear with me just a little while longer. I promise to return to my daily posting and rambling soon. 😀
